These Subscription & Billing Terms explain how subscriptions, payments, renewals, cancellations, and refunds work for the Fylom app and related services (the "Service"), operated by Fylom Collective Pty Ltd.
These terms form part of, and should be read together with, the Fylom Terms of Service.
1. Subscription plans
Fylom is offered as a paid subscription service. A limited free tier ("Guest") is available with restricted usage.
Details of available plans, pricing, billing periods, and features are displayed in the app or at the point of purchase.
Current plans include:
- Guest — free, with a total usage cap of 30 minutes
- Starter — $8.99 USD/month with 150 minutes per month
- Pro — $19.99 USD/month with 300 minutes per month
Plan names, features, minute allocations, and the number of available tiers may change over time. See Section 10 for details on how changes are communicated.
2. Payment and billing
2.1 Payment methods
Subscriptions may be purchased through:
- Apple In-App Purchase — available within the iOS app, processed by Apple
- Stripe — available via the Fylom website at fylom.com
Your chosen payment method will be charged at the beginning of each billing period.
2.2 Billing periods
All paid plans are billed monthly. Your billing period starts on the date you subscribe and renews on the same date each month.
2.3 Apple-specific billing
For subscriptions purchased through the Apple App Store:
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID account.
- Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
2.4 Taxes
Prices may be inclusive or exclusive of applicable taxes depending on your location and payment method. Apple handles tax collection for In-App Purchases. Stripe transactions may include applicable taxes as required by law.
3. Free tier (Guest)
The Guest tier provides a limited, one-time usage allowance of 30 minutes total. No payment method is required. Once the allowance is exhausted, a paid subscription is required to continue using the Service.
4. Free trials and introductory offers
We may offer free trials or introductory pricing from time to time. The terms of any trial or offer, including duration and the price that applies after the trial period, will be clearly displayed at the time of sign-up.
- Free trials convert automatically to a paid subscription at the end of the trial period unless cancelled beforehand.
- For Apple subscriptions, trials must be cancelled at least 24 hours before the trial period ends to avoid being charged.
- Only one free trial per Apple ID or Fylom account is permitted, unless otherwise stated.
5. Renewals
Paid subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled before the renewal date.
- Apple subscriptions renew automatically through Apple. You can manage renewal settings in your Apple ID account settings.
- Stripe subscriptions renew automatically through Stripe. You can manage renewal settings at fylom.com.
6. Payment failures
If a payment fails at the time of renewal:
- Apple subscriptions — Apple may retry the payment over a grace period. During this time, you may retain access to paid features. If payment is not recovered, your subscription will expire.
- Stripe subscriptions — Stripe may retry the payment according to its retry schedule. If payment is not recovered, your subscription will be cancelled and your account will revert to the Guest tier.
We are not responsible for service interruptions caused by payment failures, expired payment methods, or insufficient funds.
7. Cancellations
You may cancel your subscription at any time. Upon cancellation:
- You retain access to your current plan's features until the end of the current billing period.
- Your subscription will not renew at the end of that period.
- Your account will revert to the Guest tier (subject to any remaining Guest allowance).
How to cancel
- Apple subscriptions — cancel through your Apple ID subscription settings on your device, or via the App Store. Cancellation must occur at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period to prevent renewal.
- Stripe subscriptions — cancel through your account settings at fylom.com.
We do not offer partial refunds for unused time remaining in a billing period upon cancellation, except where required by law.
8. Refunds
8.1 Apple In-App Purchases
Refunds for purchases made through Apple are handled by Apple in accordance with their refund policies. To request a refund, visit reportaproblem.apple.com.
8.2 Stripe purchases
If you believe you have been charged in error, contact us at support@fylom.com within 14 days of the charge. Refund requests are assessed on a case-by-case basis.
8.3 Consumer rights
Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law or any other applicable consumer protection legislation. If you are entitled to a refund under applicable law, we will honour that entitlement regardless of the terms above.
9. Pricing changes
We reserve the right to change subscription pricing at any time. Price changes will not affect your current billing period — they take effect at the start of your next billing period.
9.1 Apple subscriptions
For subscriptions purchased through the Apple App Store, Apple will notify you of any price changes in accordance with Apple's policies. Depending on the nature of the increase, you may be required to consent to the new price before your subscription renews. If consent is required and you do not agree to the new price or take no action, your subscription will expire at the end of your current billing period.
9.2 Stripe subscriptions
For subscriptions purchased via the web, we will notify you of any price changes by email at least 30 days before the change takes effect. Your continued subscription after the price change constitutes acceptance of the new price. If you do not wish to continue at the new price, you may cancel your subscription before the change takes effect.
9.3 Plan and feature changes
We may modify, add, or remove subscription tiers, adjust minute allocations, or change included features at any time. Material changes will be communicated via the app or email with reasonable notice.
10. Usage limits and overages
Each plan includes a monthly usage allowance measured in minutes of generated audio. Usage resets at the start of each billing period.
- Unused minutes do not roll over to subsequent billing periods.
- If you reach your usage limit, you will not be able to generate new episodes until your allowance resets or you upgrade to a higher plan.
- Minutes consumed by in-progress or pending episodes count toward your usage.
11. Plan changes
11.1 Upgrades
You may upgrade your plan at any time. Upgrades take effect immediately. Billing adjustments depend on your payment platform:
- Apple — Apple handles prorated billing for subscription upgrades within the same subscription group.
- Stripe — prorated billing is applied for the remainder of the current billing period.
11.2 Downgrades
Downgrades take effect at the end of the current billing period. You retain access to your current plan's features until then.
12. Cross-platform subscriptions
Your Fylom subscription is linked to your account, not to a specific device or platform. However:
- You cannot hold active subscriptions on both Apple and Stripe simultaneously.
- To switch payment platforms, cancel your current subscription, wait for the billing period to end, then subscribe on the other platform.
- Your usage, episodes, and account data are accessible regardless of which platform you subscribed through.
13. Modifications to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the app or email. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
