Fylom in Claude and ChatGPT

Ask Claude or ChatGPT for an episode and it lands in your Fylom library. It can be about the conversation you're having, a document you've shared, or a subject you want to hear about.

What it does

The connector gives the assistant three tools:

Create a Fylom episode. Starts an episode from your request. If the assistant passes along material, such as the conversation so far or a document, Fylom writes the episode from that material and adds web research. Otherwise Fylom researches the subject from the web. Episodes take a few minutes to make.
Check a Fylom episode. Shows whether an episode is ready, with a link to listen once it is.
List Fylom episodes. Shows your most recent episodes.

Finished episodes also appear in the Fylom app on iPhone, Android and the web.

Before you start

A Fylom account. Guest use in the app doesn't carry over, so sign in or create an account first.
Episodes made through the connector use your plan's minutes, the same as episodes made in the app.

Connect in Claude

In Claude, open Settings, then Connectors.
Choose Add custom connector. Name it Fylom and enter https://api.fylom.com/mcp.
Choose Connect, sign in to Fylom, and choose Allow.

Custom connectors work on Claude's web, desktop and mobile apps. Team and Enterprise plans may need an owner to add the connector first.

Connect in ChatGPT

In ChatGPT, open Settings, then Apps & Connectors, then Advanced settings, and turn on Developer mode.
Back in Apps & Connectors, choose Create. Name it Fylom, enter https://api.fylom.com/mcp, and pick OAuth for authentication.
Sign in to Fylom and choose Allow.

Developer mode is only on some ChatGPT plans.

Connect in Claude Code

Run this, then type /mcp in Claude Code to sign in:

claude mcp add --transport http fylom https://api.fylom.com/mcp

Asking for an episode

Ask the way you'd ask for anything else. For example:

make me a fylom episode on this so i can listen on the drive home
turn my notes into a 10 min episode to revise before the exam
fylom episode on how interest rates affect mortgages in australia
is my episode ready yet

What Fylom receives

Fylom only gets what the assistant sends in a tool call. That's your request, any material the assistant includes, and which episodes to look up. Fylom doesn't see the rest of your conversation. The assistant decides what to include as material, based on what you ask for.

When an episode is ready, Fylom creates a link to it so you can listen from the chat. Anyone with that link can play the episode.

Episodes made this way are stored and handled like any other Fylom episode. See the privacy policy for details.

Disconnect

On the Fylom website, go to Settings and choose Disconnect next to the app under Connected apps. That stops the app from making or reading your episodes. You can also remove Fylom from the connector list in Claude or ChatGPT. Episodes you've already made stay in your library.
